New Year eve revellers being checked for drunken driving.
Hyderabad: Nearly 1,683 drunken drivers were caught during the New Year’s eve in Hyderabad, 582 drivers were nabbed in Cyberabad and 234 were caught in Rachakonda. Special drives were conducted from 9 pm on Sunday till wee hours of Monday in the city.
Special drives were conducted in Gopalpuram, Marredpally, S.R. Nagar, Tirumulgherry, Punjagutta, Begumpet, Abids, Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Narayanaguda, Saifabad and other areas.
Nearly 22,540 vehicles were checked in Hyderabad, among which 1,683 were seized. Maxmimum numbers of cases were booked in Tolichowki.
