Hyderabad: In a combined operation conducted by Special Operations Team (SOT) LB Nagar Zone along with Saroornagar police, four inter-state synthetic narcotic drug peddlers were nabbed and 12 grams of heroin and other items worth Rs 1.50 lakh were seized from their possession.

After receiving a tip-off, the teams early on Wednesday conducted a raid at
the accused’s hideout at Karmanghat, Saroornagar and apprehended four
persons, seized the contraband and four mobile phones.

During interrogation, the accused confessed that to earn additional margin
money they diluted pure form of heroin with lidocaine, Inositol and mannitol
(powdered form of chemicals) and sold the adulterated contraband for Rs
10,000 per gram.

The offenders revealed that their co-accused, Palem Nivas of Nellore
district, residing at Manikonda, and his brother-in-law Venkata Ranganadha
Chary both were addicted to drugs and also procured and supplied the
contraband to customers, Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh M. Bhagwat
said in a press meet.

Police said Palem Nivas came in contact with Mohammed Saad in Bengaluru in
2016. Mohammed Saad consumed heroin obtained from his co-accused Syed Aamir Moiz and used to purchase the contraband from a drug dealer Pratap, who is the kingpin and absconding, for Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000 per gram and sold the
same with a margin of Rs 2,000 in Bengaluru.

The duo Syed Aamir Moiz, Mohammed Saad, had recently come to Hyderabad to hand over the contraband to their co-accused Ranganadha Chary and Palem
Nivas and were arrested.

The accused, along with the seized property, were produced before the court.
