Hyderabad: Biker sent to prison for death in mishap

Hyderabad: A 22-year-old student, who was arrested on the charges of causing death due to the negligence by Kushaiguda police was convicted by a court on Thursday. The court directed the accused to undergo two years of imprisonment and pay Rs 10,000 as fine.

According to the Rachakonda police, the accident took place on December 9, 2016, at Kapra, when Hajari Prakshith, 22, along with his friend K. Shashidhar Reddy, 19, were going towards Radhika crossroads from Dammai-guda on a motorcycle.

Prakshith was riding the the two-wheeler and Shashidhar was sitting on the pillion seat.

The police said that the rash and negligent driving of Prakshith while taking a turn at a curve resulted in the vehicle losing balance and the duo fell down on the road.

Shashidhar suffered severe injuries and died while undergoing treatment at a hospital after three days on December 12.

A case was registered against Prakshith under IPC Section 304A (Causing death by negligence)

After investigation, the case was charge-sheeted before First Special Court at Malkajgiri, which conducted a trial and convicted him on Thursday.
