Hyderabad: A 58-year-old physical education teacher at the Atomic Energy Central School in ECIL was thrashed and handed over to the cops for allegedly sexually assaulting a Class II student. The girl’s parents, who have lodged a complaint with the Kushaiguda police, staged a protest in front of the school campus on Monday, demanding strict action against the teacher Chandrashekar.
The parents, residents of the Housing Board Colony, said that the seven-year-old girl had been behaving very abnormally for the past few days and had also been sleeptalking.

In her sleep, she had been shouting, asking her “Sir” to leave her. Her parents initially thought that she was scared of some teacher. However, the girl fell sick a week ago. When pressed, she revealed to her parents that Chandrashekar had been sexually harassing her since two months on the school campus. Her father lodged a complaint with the police against Chandrashekar. Cops registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act and sent the girl for medical examination. Chandrashekar has been detained. The school did not comment on the issue.
AP Balala Hakkula Sangham condemned the teacher and also demanded strict action against the school management for being irresponsible.
