Hyderabad: A 19-year-old committed suicide by hanging at her residence on Saturday late night. Parents alleged that the victim, G. Swathi, a second year degree student, took her own life due to harassment by a person. Police are investigating the claims.
According to the police, Swathi committed suicide by hanging herself at around 5.30 pm at her residence in Dhulapally.
Sub-inspector Mahesh said, “A person named Sai Teja used to harass her in the name of love by messaging her on social media. As a result, she went into depression and committed suicide.”
The police has booked a case against Sai Teja under Section 306 IPC (abetment to suicide). Swathi's body was handed over to the family after the postmortem examination at Gandhi Hospital.
