Bengaluru: Upset with stalker, 19-year-old ends life
Bengaluru: While a 19-year-old B.Com student ended her life by hanging after being constantly stalked by a youth, the latter also committed suicide by coming under a moving train after learning about her death. The incident was reported in K.P. Agrahara on Wednesday evening.
The deceased have been identified as Gayana and Mallesh, 22, both residents of K. P. Agrahara. Gayana was studying second year BCom at a private college while Mallesh was working in a private firm. According to the police, both Gayana and Mallesh knew each other from the last few years as they resided in the same locality. Mallesh had recently proposed his love for her but she had rejected his request.
However, Mallesh was allegedly pestering her and used to follow her while she was on her way to college. Gayana had scolded him several times.
“On Wednesday evening, he confronted her near her house and picked up a quarrel. An upset Gayana returned home and ended her life by hanging in her room,” said the police.
“The incident came to light when her family members went to her room and found her dead,” the police added. On learning about the incident Mallesh rushed to Gayana’s house. Shocked to see her dead, he left her house and committed suicide by coming under a moving train near Binnypet railway track, the police added.
The Magadi Road police have registered a case in connection with Gayana's suicide, while the City Railway police have taken up a case regarding Mallesh’s death.
