Delhi man stabbed to death for objecting to eve-teasing
New Delhi: A 31-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death in northwest Delhi's Jahangirpuri area for objecting to eve-teasing of his sister-in-law by his neighbour who has been arrested, police said on Thursday.
Police said that the victim Sabir Ali, 31, was a scrap dealer and lived with his family in Jahangirpuri. His younger brother and his wife also lived with him.
Sabir's neighbour, Salauddin, 32, allegedly kept a bad eye on his sister-in-law. The deceased had often confronted the accused over the matter in the past, police said.
Sabir and Salauddin had a fight over the issue last night around 10.30 pm. The accused during the scuffle took out a knife and stabbed Sabir in the chest and fled from there, said a police officer.
Family members and neighbours rushed Sabir to Jagjivan Ram Hospital where he was declared dead by the doctors.
A case of murder was registered and raids were conducted and the accused was arrested, he said.
