Telangana: Man forges documents, arrested

Hyderabad: The West Zone task force arrested a man for preparing fake educational certificates of JNTU and selling it. Police seized 16 B.Tech certificates, four holograms, a rental agreement and a laptop from him. The accused, K. Vinod Kumar, 31, is a resident of Brundavan colony in Boduppal.

“Koppal Vinod Kumar completed B.Tech from JNTU. In 2010, he started a business named ‘Ascenders Consulting Services’ near Osmania University gate. He came into contact with one Narender, 30, of Karmanghat, and he informed Vinod that he was preparing fake B.Tech certificates of JNTU and asked him to get customers. Vinod decided to send details of persons who needed certificates to Narender,” said DCP B. Limba Reddy.

Vinod started collecting data about students needing certificates and send it to Narender and after preparation of certificates, Narender handed it over in person to him. “Later, he gave the forged certificates to customers by charging Rs 80,000 to Rs 1 Lakh. He also used to give Rs 50,000 to Rs 70,000 to Narender,” the DCP added. Vinod was handed over to Nallakunta police station for action.
