Hyderabad: A 40-year-old man was booked for allegedly raping and impregnating his 15-year-old step-daughter on Sunday. Ramavatar Thakur had allegedly raped the girl for six months and she became pregnant. The victim didn’t disclose the matter to anyone as Thakur had threatened to kill her.
The matter came to light on June 23 after the girl's mother took her to a hospital in RTC Coloy after she complained of uneasiness, and the doctors found the child to be four months preganant. Upon questioning, the girl revealed that Thakur would gag and rape her, Begumpet ACP S. Ranga Rao said. Based on a complaint from the mother, police booked a case and started investigations. “Her mother works as a domestic help. She married Thakur after her husband died 16 years ago,” Mr Ranga Rao said.
