Hyderabad: The Kalapatther police took three people into custody for their alleged involvment in attacking the house of a history sheeter. Another 17 persons including few history sheeters who were involved in the attack are absconding.
The trouble began, after one Wajid, a history sheeter of Kalapatther went to Wahed and Rahmath Mirza’s house and provoked them with a dagger. Wajid was attacked a few months ago at Jahanuma following which the latter retaliated. Keeping it in mind, Wahed Mirza, Rahmath and their associates were at loggerheads.
On Thursday night, after Wajid went near their house, the latter gathered a few dozen associates including a few history sheeters and attacked Wajid’s house at Biryani Shah Tekri.
“A police team rushed to the spot and chased away the mob. However, miscreants rushed into the neighbouring lanes and attacked houses and damaged a few motorcycles in the locality,” said DCP (South) V. Satyanarayana.
Additional forces from Kalapatther police station rushed to the spot and chased the miscreants away. “Special teams have been formed to track down the miscreants. We are checking CCTV footages on the approach roads and analysing the CDR details to find out how many people had gathered,” the DCP said.
The police invoked several Sections of IPC and Arms Act against those responsible for creating trouble. The police seized three daggers and seven bikes from the area.
Locals pointed out that on Thursday night, about 100 people had gathered and moved around with armed lathis and iron rods. Residents claimed that the same persons had visited Yaseen Travels a day earlier. The mob had outnumbered the police.
Early on Saturday, the police conducted a cordon and search operation in Jahanuma and Biryani Shah Tekri and detained history sheeters and those with criminal records.
