Hyderabad: Burglar held,1.5 kg of gold ornaments seized

The stolen gold was recovered from the pawnbroker. Both were sent to judicial custody.

Hyderabad: The police arrested a burglar and recovered 1.5 kg of gold ornaments from him. The cops also arrested a pawnbroker who was buying stolen ornaments from the burglar. The arrested burglar Kotipally Chandri alias Shekhar, 25, was a car driver. The pawnbroker, Heeralal Sirvi, 33, is the owner of Sree Ambika Jewellers and Pawnbrokers in Pochampally. “Chandri is a professional burglar. He was first arrested in 2007 by Medak police for stealing scrap from a shop in Jinnaram village. Later, he was arrested by Jeedimetla police in 2011 in 7 burglary cases. He was again arrested by Miyapur police in 2013. He was released in September 2013 and was absconding since then. Chandri has committed 31 burglaries and used to sell stolen valuables to Heeralal Sirvi,” north zone DCP B. Sumathi said. On September 12, 2016, Shekhar burgled a house in Secunderabad belonging to M.S. Harsha, manager, DCB Bank. He stole 12 tola gold ornaments,” the DCP added. On Thursday market police nabbed Chandri near the passport office with stolen property. During interrogation he confessed to burgling 30 houses in Mahankali, Bowenpally and Chilkalguda, Medipally, Jawahar-nagar, Kushaiguda and Keesara. The stolen gold was recovered from the pawnbroker. Both were sent to judicial custody.
