TRS man elected unopposed

The Congress choose not to contest as it did not have the numbers.

Hyderabad: Mr K. Naveen Rao of the TRS was the lone candidate who filed his nomination papers for the Legislative Council election under the MLAs quota and was declared elected unopposed on Friday.

Mr Naveen Rao was fielded for the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr M. Hanumantha Rao after he was elected to the Assembly from Malkajgiri constituency.

The Congress choose not to contest as it did not have the numbers. With no other candidate in the fray, returning officer V.V. Narasimha-charyulu declared Mr Naveen Rao elected unopposed and handed over the certificate.
