Hyderabad: A 28-year-old lorry driver, who was accused of sexually exploiting a girl after promising to marry her, was arrested by the Malkajgiri police on Friday.
According to Malkajgiri police, accused V. Naveen, a resident of Hanuman Nagar in Moula Ali, had befriended a girl from his neighbourhood about three years ago, when the girl was still a minor.
Naveen lured her with a promise of marriage and had sexually exploited her.
When the girl pressurised for marriage, he asked for six months of time and postponed it for three years.
Meanwhile, the accused was planning to marry his niece and the victim who learned about it has lodged a complaint with the cops, requesting to take action.
Following the complaint, a case was registered against the accused and was arrested on Friday.
