Hyderabad: A Nalgonda businessman, who opened fire with his licensed gun for fun while drunk landed in jail on Tuesday.
The businessman, P. Prabhakar Goud, a friend of Gandikota Sarpanch P. Purushotham, fired three bullets from his .32 mm pistol in Gandipet on Monday midnight alarming neighbours. Nobody was hurt in the incident.
Police arrested Prabhakar and booked him under the Arms Act. Police said the incident occurred while Prabhakar, Purushotham and friends were returning after a party.
“They had consumed alcohol. Prabhakar fired the gun thrice for fun,” said a cop. Police found three bullets missing from the cartridge. Though Prabhakar claimed that it was an accidental firing he could not explain why three bullets got fired. Later, he confessed that he fired it for fun.
Police is also investigating if there is any other angle to the case and if Prabhakar had fired the gun to threaten somebody.
