Firaz Uddin, who was late to pub, had a licensed weapon.

Hyderabad: Tension prevailed at a pub in Jubilee Hills when a man from the Old City pulled out a gun in front of the staff and other pubgoers, spreading panic among the crowd. Police arrived at the scene, detained the man and seized his gun, which was licensed. Firaz Uddin wanted to enter Club N in Jubilee Hills around 11.15 pm on Sunday night when the bouncers denied entry, stating that the closing time was 12 pm.

“He demanded them to let him enter and just as the managers were called and some of the crowd was dispersing from the club, he pulled out a gun which he had concealed on the back, inside his belt. He showed it to the staff, creating panic among the people. “He then went in after giving the gun to his driver and had a beer. Meanwhile, the police were called upon and they nabbed him on arrival” said the police inspector of Jubilee Hills, P. Chandra Shekar. Only after verification, it was learned that he had license for the weapon he was carrying.
