Hyderabad: Man beaten to death by neighbours
Hyderabad: A 30-year-old worker died after he was allegedly attacked by his neighbours at Manikeshwar-nagar. Police said A. Venkatesh went to his neighbour M. Srinivas’ house when only two female members of the family — his wife Latha and his elder sister Rajamma — were present.
According to the police, they two women suspected the worst and beat up Venkatesh. The labourer went home. When Srinivas returned, the womenfolk told him about the incident. He went over and beat Venkatesh. Police arrested Srinivas, Latha and Rajamma.
2 held for assaulting doctor
The Charminar police on Saturday arrested Y.B. Laxmi Devi, 42, a housewife, and her daughter-in-law Y. Sujitha, 26, who allegedly assaulted duty doctor Dr Swetha Priyanka at the Government Maternity Hospital at Petlaburj. Police said they assaulted her when she advised them to move out of the emergency ward.
ACP Charminar K. Ashoka Chakrawarthi said the two women had come to the hospital on Friday along with Sujitha’s new-born baby for vaccination and entered the emergency ward. They were directed to the nursery ward on the second floor or the Osmania General Hospital following which they assaulted the doctor.
The doctor’s spectacles were broken and she was injured on the neck, he said.
