Bengaluru: Prostitution racket busted, 3 held for trafficking women

Police said the accused used to bring women from different districts in the state and from other states by promising them lucrative job offers.

Bengaluru: Central Crime Branch has busted a prostitution racket and arrested three people for allegedly trafficking women to the city and pushing them into flesh trade.

The accused have been identified as Deepak Gowda (30), who hails from Channarayapatna in Hassan district, Kashi (21), from Mysuru and Prajwal (21), from K.R. Pete in Mandya. Based on a tip off the CCB sleuths on Saturday conducted the raid on a house on Hanumantegowda Road in Chikkasandra. The cops rescued three women, who were allegedly pushed into the flesh trade by the accused.

Police said the accused used to bring women from different districts in the state and from other states by promising them lucrative job offers. Once they land in the city, the accused used to confine them to the house and scout for customers.

The CCB police have sent the rescued girls to a rehabilitation centre. Soldevanahalli police have registered a case in this regard.
