Thrissur suicide case: Council formed to settle liabilites of chit fund
Thrissur: An action council has been formed at Kadangode in Erumapetti to settle the financial liabilities of the chit fund owner Sureshkumar who committed suicide on Monday along with his wife by throwing their three daughters into the well due to financial liabilities. Funds will also be raised by the council for the upbringing of the eight-year-old daughter of the couple, Vaishanvi, who was rescued from the well by the local people.
Erumapetti Press Forum president Kabir Kadangode, who is the chairman of the council, said that an consorted effort would be made to settle the liabilities of the deceased Sureshkumar in view of the tragedy in which he along with his wife and two daughters died. “Efforts will be taken to settle the liabilities and register the properties and land in the name of the lone survivor in the family, Vaishanvi. State government will be bearing the expenses for her studies from now on,” he added.
The council has also asked for a detailed inquiry into the allegations that the land and finance mafia in the locality prevented Sureshkumar from selling his Rs 1 crore worth property to settle his liabilities of Rs 50 lakh as they wanted the buy the land at a throw away price. “A complaint regarding this will be filed with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan,” Mr Kabir said.
