Hyderabad: The condition of the 20-year-old girl who was set ablaze by her boy friend on Wednesday has deteriorated, doctors said on Thursday. She was admitted in a corporate hospital here with 70 per cent burns.
Dr Murali Krishna Reddy, plastic surgeon, said she had suffered third degree burns on more than 70 per cent of her body surface area with gross swelling of airways and inhalational injury. She had been intubated for respiratory distress and placed on ventilator.
“She is still in an extremely critical condition. Since the last 26 hours, her health conditions are deteriorating,” a statement said. Medicines were required to maintain her blood pressure and high ventilatory support to maintain oxygen saturation.
