Kochi: The Kerala Catholic Bishop Council on Tuesday claimed that they will welcome any kind of probe into the rape committed by Fr Robin Vadakkumchery. The council asserted that they have a zero tolerance towards sexual abuse towards minors. A press release in this regard was issued by Fr Varghese Vallikkat, Deputy Secretary General of KCBC and official spokesperson of the KCBC on Tuesday..
"The news of a priest arrested in the rape of a minor is highly disheartening. Such instances by individuals who are supposed to keep their bodies and souls clean is sad and grave" the release said. Higher ups should immediately take action against them and should ensure that the culprit is brought to book. The Church will never support the offenders or help them in destroying evidence.
