Hyderabad: Rice pulling gang dupes businessman
Hyderabad: A former employee of French MNC Capgemini from Hyderabad and three associates were arrested by Special Operations Team of Rachakonda police on Tuesday for duping a businessman by collecting Rs 24 lakh from him for providing him ‘Rice pulling’ Material, that doubles the property. The suspects, identified as P Krishna Reddy, a software engineer from Adibatla, R Prakash, a turner from Begumpet, V Rajendra Chary of Nacharam and Vel Kumar, a tailor from Tamil Nadu, along with another accused Abdul Khaleel of Tamil Nadu, cheated Shiv Shankar, a businessman from Kushaiguda.
They met Shiv Shankar who wanted to earn easy money. They looted Rs 12 lakh from him on the pretext of providing him rice pulling material.
“With the amount collected they purchased an idol and said that it is the rice pulling idol with mystic powers and is worth over Rs 3,000 crore.” investigating officials said.
The kingpin in the racket, Abdul Khaleel is still at large. Shankar had lodged a complaint with Kushaiguda Police. Police when the accused repeatedly postponed the delivery of the mystic material he had sought.
