Bengaluru: In a tragic incident, a 35-year-old man murdered his wife and two-year-old daughter before ending his life in Yalahanka New Town police station limits. Family dispute is said to be the reason for the incident.
The deceased are identified as Amit Kumar Jha, his wife Meenakshi Jha, 30, and their daughter Manya. The family hailed from Bihar and they were staying in a rented house at Someshwara Layout in Yalahanka New Town from the past six years.
According to the police, Amit was a B.Tech graduate and was working for a private company. Two months ago, he had quit the job and was unemployed. His wife was running a pre-school close to the house.
The incident took place on Sunday night and came to light only on Monday late evening. “As Meenakshi had not gone to the school on Monday and did not answer phone calls, a staff of the school had gone to her house in the evening. As there was no response, she alerted the house owner, who broke open a window and found Amit hanging. They immediately informed the police. When the door was broke open, it was found that even his wife and daughter were lying dead. Prima facie, he has fatally strangulated them and hanged himself. There are no signs of foul play,” the police said.
