Hyderabad: 2 girls end life in Panagal Lake

One girl ended her life due to health issues.

Hyderabad: In a suspected case of suicide, two teenage girls reportedly jumped into Panagal lake in Nalgonda district. One of the teenager wrote a suicide note and left it in the hostel where she was living.

The police searched for their bodies and rescue operations are expected to continue on Friday as their bodies are yet to be recovered.

According to Narasimhulu, Nalgonda sub-inspector of police, the two girls were identified as Sravani, 18 from and Habiba Begum, 19.

They were friends who met in junior intermediate college. Habiba was one year senior to Sravani.

According to sources, Saravani came to her village 10 days ago and on Monday went to an internet cafe with her father before going missing. When her father came back home, he found a suicide note reportedly.

Her parents immediately contacted Sravani’s best friend Habiba’s parents.

The police said, “When Sravani’s parents contacted Habiba’s parents, they came to know that their daughter was missing from her hostel. When they went and checked the hostel, they found a suicide note written by Habiba which stated that she was committing suicide as she had health issues and her family members cannot afford her medical expenses.”

The family members informed the police about the suicide note.

Policemen reached the lake and found two bags and two pairs of slippers and immediately started the rescue operations.
