Picked for Telangana job, ailing man ends life

In the suicide note, Srinivas stated that he was not aware of the health issue before he got engaged.

Hyderabad: A 32-year-old man, who was critically ill due to a liver infection, committed suicide by jumping in front of a running train in Nalgonda district on Sunday.

The victim, Mudem Srinivas Reddy, had recently cleared the group II entrance test and was selected as a deputy tahsildar. He had left a suicide note, stating that he took this decision due to health problems.

Srinivas Reddy, the youngest of the three siblings, had completed post-graduation. He secured 461 marks and got qualified as a deputy tahsildar and was awaiting the call letter. Meanwhile, the results were challenged in the court and the notification got struck.

A few months ago, he got engaged and preparations for the marriage have already been started by both the parties. Meanwhile, he got diagnosed with a severe liver infection.

In the suicide note, Srinivas stated that he was not aware of the health issue before he got engaged.

“I had so many dreams to marry and look after my wife and keep her happy. But after knowing that I will not live for long, I cannot cheat her,” he wrote.

He left home on Saturday evening. On Sunday morning, the railway staff found his body on the tracks near Miryalaguda railway station.

Based on a contact number mentioned in the suicide note, the police identified him.
