Crackdown on Negligent Sports Trainers in Jharkhand

In a new directive, all trainers must now mark their attendance using a biometric system and upload a geo-tagged photo daily to confirm their presence at the training centers.

Jharkhand: The state government is tightening oversight of sports trainers across its day-boarding training centers to ensure accountability and dedication. In a new directive, all trainers must now mark their attendance using a biometric system and upload a geo-tagged photo daily to confirm their presence at the training centers.

The move follows a series of complaints from various districts about trainers skipping duty, neglecting player training, and engaging in biased selection practices. In response, the Directorate of Sports has ordered centers to submit daily training reports, while district sports officers have been instructed to conduct regular on-site inspections.

Director of Sports, Sandeep Kumar, stated that all trainers are now part of a monitored group where they must update their daily activities. “We’re closely tracking their performance, and any trainer found absent or negligent without valid reason will face strict disciplinary action,” he said.

The state government emphasized that sports trainers play a crucial role in developing young athletes and made it clear that negligence will no longer be tolerated.
