Court Takes Cognisance Of CBI Chargesheet In NEET Paper Leak
A Delhi court has taken cognisance of the CBI chargesheet against 13 accused in the NEET paper leak case, with arguments on framing charges expected to begin Thursday.
Special judge Ajay Gupta on Wednesday took cognisance of the CBI chargesheet against 13 accused in the NEET paper leak case. The court is likely to begin hearing arguments on charges from Thursday.
The CBI recently submitted its final report before the designated fast-track court dealing with “criminal cases arising from paper leaks as well as the use of other unfair means in public examinations.”
During the proceedings, the CBI informed the court that some witnesses whose names were being published in a section of the media could even be minors and that portions of the chargesheet were continuously being published in some newspapers.
Expressing displeasure over the publication of the names of witnesses, the court said responsible media should refrain from doing so.
“This is very shocking. Whatever has not yet been stated in court and is currently part of the chargesheet, all of that being made public in the media is extremely shocking,” the judge said.
