Court Allows CID To Record Voice Sample Of Abhishek
The TMC leader earlier faced marathon questioning by the CID in the case.

Kolkata: The Bidhannagar Court granted permission to the criminal investigation department (CID) of the West Bengal Police on Tuesday to collect voice samples of Trinamul Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee in its probe into the case of his provocative speech during the Assembly Election campaign.
It has also fixed June 30 as the date for the CID to record the voice sample of Mr Banerjee who is required to be physically present also. The process will be held at the court in presence of a judge and forensic experts on that day.
The CID had prayed for the permission from the court in Salt Lake for the evidence of the young TMC leader to match it with his viral audio visual speech since the FIR was initially registered at the cyber crime wing of the Bidhannagar City Police.
A controversy erupted after Mr Banerjee, sounding confident about TMC’s return to power, declared in a veiled threat to BJP during his poll campaign that the DJ sound system would be played so loudly that it would be an irritation to hear. The TMC leader earlier faced marathon questioning by the CID in the case.
