Cockroach Janta Party Seeks Pradhan’s Resignation, Rs 1 Crore Aid for Families
Student-led group writes to PM Modi, citing exam crisis, paper leak controversy and alleged student suicides.

The Cockroach Janta Party has written an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Rs 1 crore compensation for the families of students who allegedly died by suicide amid the ongoing examination and paper leak crisis.
In the letter, the student-led organisation expressed concern over what it described as an escalating crisis affecting the mental well-being of students across the country. The group claimed that 11 students had died by suicide in recent weeks, including five deaths reported within the last 48 hours, and alleged that the pressure surrounding examination irregularities and re-examinations had worsened the situation.
The organisation said many affected families were facing severe financial hardship after investing heavily in their children's education, with some reportedly burdened by educational loans. It urged the Centre to provide immediate financial relief of Rs 1 crore to the families of students whose deaths were linked to the paper leak crisis.
The letter also accused the government of failing to ensure accountability for repeated examination-related irregularities and reiterated its month-long demand for Pradhan's removal from office. The group said it had been staging protests across the country and argued that holding leadership accountable was essential to restoring the faith of students and parents in the education system.
According to the letter, recurring paper leaks, alleged mismanagement and uncertainty surrounding re-examinations point to deeper systemic failures in the education sector. The organisation urged the Prime Minister to take "swift and decisive action" by replacing the Education Minister and implementing reforms to address the concerns of students.
The Cockroach Janta Party said such a move would demonstrate the government's commitment to safeguarding students' interests and rebuilding trust in the country's educational framework.
The government has not yet issued an official response to the demands.
