Chhattisgarh To Use AI To Hasten End Of Maoism

Union home minister Amit Shah has set a target to end Maoism in the country by March, 2026.

Raipur: The Chhattisgarh police will take the help of artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze the database being prepared on Maoists for the ‘round-the-clock’ monitoring of their activities and movements.

A software is being developed to store the data base on the profiles of the Maoists, their hideouts and the route of frequent movements as well as their activities on social media, a senior police officer told this newspaper here on Saturday, requesting anonymity.

The data base to be prepared will cover the native places of the Maoists, their family members and acquaintances, their social media groups, if they are active in any, the type of weapons they carry, the frequent meeting points, and their hideouts.

The data will be uploaded in the software which is under development, sources said.

The database will be analyzed by the AI to ascertain the working pattern of the particular Maoists, their style of functioning, and their lifestyle, the police officer said.

The data on their native villages, their profile, area of operation, rewards announced on them, and reports on the investigations done on their activities will be fed to the software for analysis through AI.

The contents uploaded by the Maoists on their social media sites and the web portals will also be fed to the software.

“The move will help security forces take real time action against the Maoists”, the police officer said.
