Chhattisgarh: Sai cabinet increases upper age limit for govt jobs to 35

Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government has decided to increase the upper age limit for recruitment in government jobs in the state by five years to 35.

The age relaxation for recruitment in government jobs in the state will be applicable only for the domiciles of Chhattisgarh and the benefit will be extended till December 31, 2028.

The decision was taken at the state cabinet meeting held here late on Wednesday evening under the chairmanship of chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai.

“In the interest of youths in Chhattisgarh, the cabinet decided to provide relaxation of five years in the upper age limit prescribed for the local residents of Chhattisgarh. The benefit will be extended till December 31, 2028”, a spokesman of Chhattisgarh government said on Thursday.

The age relaxation will however not be applicable for the home (police) department.

The move will benefit nearly one lakh youths in the state every year, the spokesman said.

The cabinet also decided to constitute a four-member cabinet sub-committee headed by deputy chief minister Vijay Sharma to study the political cases pending in various courts and recommend measures to withdraw them after studying each case.

The other members of the sub-committee are deputy chief minister Arun Sao and cabinet ministers Ram Vichar Netam and Laxmi Rajwade.

Meanwhile, chief minister Mr Sai on Thursday declared to probe the charges of irregularities in the implementation of ‘Ram Van Gaman Path’ (The route traversed by Lord Ram, Sita and Laxman in Chhattisgarh during their self-exile period) project during the previous Congress government in the state.

Mr Sai said that all the alleged corruption cases of the previous Bhupesh Baghel government would be probed by his government.
