Chhattisgarh: Question Paper Leak Forces Agri University To Cancel AENT Exam

5-member committee formed to probe incident

Raipur: The Raipur-based Indira Gandhi Agriculture University (IGAU), run by the Chhattisgarh government, on Thursday cancelled the AENT (Agriculture Entomology) paper of B.Sc. (Ag) second year following reported leakage of the question paper.

A circular issued by the university said that “It is hereby informed to all students of B.Sc. (Ag) II Year, II semester, 6th Dean, Academic Session 2025-26 that the examination of AENT 221 (Pest Management in crops and stored grains- I (Rabi Crops), conducted on 20.08.2026, has been cancelled due to administrative reasons.”

The university further informed that the cancelled examination will be rescheduled in the first week of September 2026.

Chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that the matter has come to his notice.

A five-member committee has been constituted to probe the matter, he said.

University sources said that the authorities came to know about the leakage barely two hours before the examination was scheduled to be conducted on Thursday.

The university authorities got the hint that the question paper was being circulated among some candidates barely two before the exam commenced and immediately ordered cancellation of the exam, a senior administrative officer of the University told this newspaper, unwilling to be quoted.

According to the sources, preliminary investigation has suggested that the question paper was not directly leaked from the university sources to the candidates.

It was forwarded in the WhatsApp groups to some candidates from outside sources.

A probe alone can identify the source of leakage, sources said.

This is the first case of question paper leakage in Chhattisgarh.
