C’garh: Digital Records Of Security Personnel Martyred In Anti-Naxal Ops In Bastar To Be Created For Posterity
Chhattisgarh will create digital records of 1,280 security personnel killed in anti-Naxal operations in Bastar since 2000, with QR codes at proposed memorials allowing people to access their stories and sacrifices.
In a first of its kind initiative, the Chhattisgarh government is going to create the digital records of the security personnel, martyred in anti-Naxal operations in Bastar in the state in the last 26 years, for posterity.
The digital records will be created of the jawans and police officers who had laid their lives while battling the Maoists in Bastar from 2000, when the state was formed, till date, an official spokesman said here on Sunday.
The digital records could be accessed by the people through QR Codes to be displayed at the memorials for the martyrs, proposed to be established at different places in Bastar, the spokesman said.
The prime objecting of creating the digital records of the cops slain in anti-Naxal operations is to make the future generations aware of the sacrifices made by these police personnel and jawans of different Central Para Military Forces to root out decades old Leftwing Extremism in the state, the spokesman said.
“Work has already started in the area”, the spokesman said.
The digital records will also highlight how the families of the slain security personnel had made sacrifices for losing their near and dear ones in the battle against Maoism.
As many as 1280 security personnel were slain in the Naxal attacks and counterinsurgency operations in Bastar between 2000 and 2026.
