C’garh Accords Yoga Status of Medical Education

Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government on Tuesday decided to accord yoga the status of medical education.
The state cabinet which met here under the chairmanship of chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai approved the proposal to transfer the subject of yoga from the department of social welfare to the department of medical education.
“Recognizing yoga as an integral component of the AYUSH system, the decision has been taken to ensure better coordination and effective management of yoga-related education, training and research activities under the AYUSH framework”, an official spokesman here said.
In another key decision, the state cabinet accorded in-principle approval for listing the Chhattisgarh State Power Transmission Company Limited on the stock exchange through an initial public offering (IPO).
The move is expected to provide the citizens and investors an opportunity to participate in the company’s growth journey while further enhancing its financial strength and transparency, the spokesman said.
The Board of Directors of the company has been authorized to complete the necessary procedures related to the listing process.
In a measure to boost agriculture diversification, the cabinet approved the revised format of “Krishak Unnati Yojana” from Kharif 2026.
To encourage crop diversification and reduce excessive dependence of farmers on paddy cultivation, the state government has decided to provide grant-in-aid of Rs 15,000 per acre to farmers cultivating alternative Kharif crops such as pulses, oilseeds, maize, cotton and different kind of millet crops in place of paddy.
