Hyderabad: Assistant Medical Sergeant Surendra Kumar Moga of the Indian Air Force was martyred in a drone attack at Udhampur Air Force Station, Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan’s military launched drone strikes along the Indian border, targeting areas near Pakistan-occupied Kashmir during India’s Operation Sindoor.
The Indian Air Force repelled the attacks, but during a strike on Saturday, Moga, a Rajasthan native, was killed by drone debris while on duty.
On Sunday, his remains were brought to his village in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, and laid to rest with full military honors. Thousands, including Union ministers and citizens, paid respects, chanting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Surendra Kumar Amar Rahe.”
At the funeral, Surendra’s wife saluted him tearfully, saying “I love you,” while his son Daksh performed the final rites.
Surendra’s 11-year-old daughter, Vritika, captured hearts with her courageous words: “My father said he was safe, but he died protecting our country. I’m proud he’s a martyr. Pakistan must be destroyed. I’ll join the army like him, avenge his death, and eliminate every enemy.” Her viral statement has earned praise for her bravery and patriotism.
