BMC Demolishes Unauthorised Portions Of Ajay Devgn’s Property
The owners/occupants were directed to immediately stop the construction and submit the relevant permission documents within 24 hours.

Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has demolished portions of Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn’s 7,802-square-foot bungalow in Juhu over alleged unauthorised construction. The civic body had issued a stop-work notice on September 10 under Section 354A of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, citing internal alterations, partition walls, window modifications and other structural work allegedly carried out without the requisite permissions. Despite the notice directing an immediate halt to construction, the work reportedly continued, prompting civic officials to demolish the unauthorised portions.
Officials said the BMC had rejected the response submitted by Ajay Devgn and his mother, Veena Devgn, regarding the alleged unauthorised construction at their property in Juhu, Mumbai, citing their failure to provide any document proving the authorisation of the structure mentioned in the notice or a copy of the permission granted by the competent BMC authority.
According to civic officials, the BMC’s western suburbs ward office had issued a stop-work notice on September 10, 2026, under Section 354A of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act. The notice concerned alleged unauthorised construction and alterations involving Syporex blocks at a property located on Plot No. 10, Kapol Co-operative Housing Society, CTS No. 841, N.S. Road No. 11, JVPD, Vile Parle (West).
The owners/occupants were directed to immediately stop the construction and submit the relevant permission documents within 24 hours. The notice also warned that unauthorised construction and building materials could be removed at the owners’ risk and expense if the directions were not followed. The police were also asked to monitor the site and, if necessary, remove people engaged in the construction work.
Sources said the property was reportedly intended to be rented out to a salon operator. The proposal had drawn objections from residents of the housing society, who were concerned that the salon could increase the movement of outsiders and public access to the society’s private premises.
Responding to the issue, Ajay Devgn’s office issued a statement saying that the property did not belong to the actor. “We would like to clarify that the property in question is not Ajay Devgn’s residence, but a separate property that has been rented out. We have applied to the BMC for the requisite permissions in respect of one of our properties and are duly complying with all applicable BMC rules, regulations and guidelines. The necessary changes, alterations and modifications, as required by the BMC, have been carried out,” the statement reads.
