Bihar Labourer Killed After Being Hit By J&K Deputy CM’s Cavalcade Vehicle

Victim died while being taken to hospital; FIR registered, probe underway

A labourer from Bihar was killed after being hit by a vehicle allegedly part of Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary’s cavalcade in the Gangyal area of Jammu late Saturday night, officials said.

The victim, identified as Bharat Kapas, was crossing the road when the vehicle struck him. He suffered critical injuries and died while being taken to hospital by the vehicle's driver and accompanying security personnel, according to officials.
The accident occurred as the cavalcade was returning after dropping Choudhary at his residence in Kunjwani. The Deputy Chief Minister was not present in the vehicle involved in the accident, officials said.
An FIR has been registered at the concerned police station and an investigation is underway. Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the accident.
