Bhutan PM Calls Modi ‘Avatar Of Our Times
Tobgay recalled that in 2019, while out of office: Reports

NEW DELHI: Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay on Wednesday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his completion of 25 years as head of government, describing him as an“avatar of our times”.
In a letter carrying that title, Tobgay said Modi had instilled among Indians greater confidence in themselves and their country.“He awakened in Indians a powerful belief in themselves and in their country. They seemed prouder of India, more ambitious about its possibilities and more confident of its place in the world,” he wrote.
Tobgay recalled that in 2019, while out of office, he had described Mr Modi as an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He said he had later wondered whether he had been “carried away”, but concluded that his assessment had been correct.
In a statement, New Delhi said the Bhutanese Prime Minister had congratulated Modi on completing the milestone and praised his leadership and vision of Viksit Bharat.
Modi thanked Tobgay for his wishes and said India and Bhutan were bound by an enduring partnership based on mutual trust and understanding.
Modi completed 25 continuous years as head of government on Wednesday, having first taken office as Gujarat chief minister on October 7, 2001, before becoming Prime Minister in 2014.
Leaders from Belgium, Nigeria and the Philippines were among those who also congratulated him.
