Bhopal To Get Metro Rail Service By October: CM Yadav

In the first phase of the project, the metro rail facility will cover seven km linking eight elevated stations: Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav

BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav has said that Bhopal will get the metro rail service by October this year.

The metro project in Bhopal is in its finishing stage, Mr. Yadav, who inspected the ongoing works on the project here late on Sunday evening, said.

Mr. Yadav indicated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be invited to inaugurate the metro rail service in Bhopal.

In the first phase of the project, the metro rail facility will cover seven km linking eight elevated stations.

Key features of the metro rail service include provision of lifts in all the stations and facilities for the physically challenged commuters.

The Bhopal metro rail project involving an estimated cost of Rs 6,941 crore includes 27 train sets.

Of them, eight trains have already been delivered. Bhopal metro’s phase one and phase two comprising the orange and blue lines are targeted to be completed by 2030.

Metro rail service has already been introduced in Indore around three months ago.
