Bhopal: Man Axes Wife, 2 Minor Sons To Death Before Ending Life, Viral Video Showing His Wife Dancing At Village Event May Be Provocation

BHOPAL: A 35-year-old man in a Madhya Pradesh village brutally killed his wife and two sons, aged eight and five, by axing them to death before ending his life by jumping in front of a running train after being suspicious of her character, police said on Saturday.

The horrific incident took place in the village of Kishanpur in Morena district under Chambal region late on Friday night, police said.

It came to light when the neighbours found bodies of the woman and two children lying in the house on Saturday morning.

They immediately informed the police about the incident.

‘It was found that the man, identified as Balram Kushwaha, killed his wife and two sons with an axe. The man later committed suicide by jumping in front of a train’, Morena district superintendent of police Dharamraj Meena said.

Balram went to the nearby railway crossing and jumped in front of a train after committing the crime, police said.

It seems the man killed his wife and two children being suspicious of her character and later died by suicide out of repentance, he said.

However, what provoked the man to kill his wife and children and later commit suicide could be known after the probe, police said.

According to the police, Balram and his wife, Revati, used to quarrel frequently, leading her to live with her parents in another village.

Revati however returned to her husband’s home a couple of days ago following intervention in the matter by the local panchayat.

The couple had a bitter quarrel after dinner before going to sleep.

Balram killed his wife while she was asleep and later fatally attacked their two children, police said.

Sources said that police are probing into another theory floating in the village that Balram got furious after he learnt about a purported viral video in which his wife was seen dancing at the ‘Bhagawat Katha’ event in the village, organized a few days ago.
