Berhampore: A Bangladeshi youth was arrested in Murshidabad on Tuesday night for illegally entering India. The accused, identified as Majid Seikh (25), was picked up by Raghunathgunj police from the Mahaldarpara area under Jangipur police district, near the Indo-Bangladesh border.
Police said Majid failed to produce any valid documents when questioned. Preliminary investigation revealed that he is a resident of Chapai Nawabganj district in Bangladesh and had crossed into Indian territory by slipping through the riverine border.
