BERHAMPORE: An arrested Bangladeshi infiltrator fled from police custody in Murshidabad of West Bengal on Friday.
The accused Anarul Sheikh was one of the two intruders from the neighbouring country who were caught from the near India-Bangladesh border at Raghunathganj on Thursday night after they were found moving around suspiciously.
On Friday morning Anarul and his fellow accused, Rubel Sheikh, were taken by the police to Jangipur Hospital for a routine medical checkup before production at a court. Suddenly both managed to free themselves from the cops by shoving them and ran away.
Though Rubel was caught after a chase, Anarul could not be traced. A manhunt is underway for him.
