Mumbai: In a significant relief to policyholders of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance and Care Health, the Association of Healthcare Providers of India (AHPI) has revoked its advisory on suspension of cashless services that were to kick in on September 1.
The decision follows a meeting held on Thursday between AHPI’s core committee members and senior representatives of Bajaj Allianz. The discussion addressed a range of long-standing concerns raised by hospitals, including delays in empanelment of new hospitals, outdated reimbursement rates, unilateral deductions, disputes over advanced treatments, and questioning of clinical decisions. During the meeting, both sides reached a broad agreement on these issues.
DC had reported on Tuesday that the two warring factions have decided to meet on Thursday to resolve their differences amicably. AHPI was earlier considering to approach the Competition Commission of India (CCI) over the General Insurance Council’s decision to enforce tariffs for various treatments.
Last week, AHPI (body of 15000 hospitals) had advised its member hospitals in North India to suspend cashless treatment facilities for Bajaj Allianz and Care Health policyholders starting September 1.
“Bajaj Allianz agreed to submit formal actions to AHPI by September 29, 2025,” AHPI said.
Tapan Singhel, Managing Director and CEO, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance said, “Episodes of this nature reinforce the urgent need for a strong health regulator to safeguard citizens’ interests and ensure transparency and fairness across the healthcare ecosystem.”
