Gold Worth Rs.65.69 Lakh Found Hidden in Passenger’s Rectum
Sarfaraz Mala was arrested under the provisions of the Customs Act, 1962, officials said.

Ahmedabad: A 24-year-old man was arrested for allegedly concealing 467.09 grams of gold paste worth Rs 65.69 lakh inside his rectum at Ahmedabad airport on Sunday.
According to reports, the man was identified as Sarfaraz Mala (24), a resident of Godhra. He arrived at Ahmedabad airport from Jeddah via Doha on Qatar Airways flight No. QR-534 on Sunday.
Acting on specific inputs, officers of the Air Intelligence Unit of Customs intercepted the passenger upon his arrival.
“The passenger was found to have concealed 467.09 grams of gold paste inside his rectum. The recovered paste was subsequently converted into a gold bar weighing 422.83 grams and valued at Rs 65,69,087,” an official told PTI.
Sarfaraz Mala was arrested under the provisions of the Customs Act, 1962, officials said.
Further investigation is underway.
