Over 600 Students Leave Maharashtra Hostel Amid Ghost Rumours

Hostel authorities reportedly took the complaints seriously and arranged medical examinations for some of the girl students.

Amravati: A total of 608 students reportedly left a government-run boarding hostel in Amravati, Maharashtra, following rumours of ghosts and alleged supernatural activity on the premises.

According to reports, some students claimed to have heard unusual sounds at night, including the sound of anklets, laughter and crying, at the Doma Tribal Ashram School.

Hostel authorities reportedly took the complaints seriously and arranged medical examinations for some of the girl students. School headmaster Sanjay Chaudhary said several girls complained of hearing anklet sounds and noises resembling laughter and crying.

“We took the girls to a hospital and had them examined by a psychiatric doctor. After the examination, the doctor said the symptoms could be associated with a condition such as severe hysteria,” Chaudhary said.

Of the 608 students, 263 were boys and 345 were girls. Following the rumours and concerns, all the students reportedly returned home.
