28-Year-Old Man Allegedly Killed at Girlfriend’s House in Odisha

The deceased, identified as Silu Ray of Babarakot village, had reportedly been in a relationship with the woman for the past two years.

Bhubaneswar: A 28-year-old man was allegedly killed after he went to the house of his girlfriend in Odisha’s Deogarh district late on Wednesday, with police suspecting the involvement of her family members.

The deceased, identified as Silu Ray of Babarakot village, had reportedly been in a relationship with the woman for the past two years.

According to preliminary reports, Ray was allegedly killed at the woman’s house in the Reamal police station area. His body was then reportedly doused with petrol and set on fire on the verandah of the house.

On being informed, Reamal police reached the spot and began an investigation. The woman and her parents are being questioned in connection with the incident. Police were also examining the possible involvement of other members of the family.

A scientific team was expected to visit the spot to collect forensic evidence and assist in establishing the sequence of events.

Police were trying to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the alleged killing and the subsequent burning of the body.

Sources said Ray allegedly used to create disturbances after consuming alcohol on several occasions, which had reportedly led to frequent disagreements between him and the woman’s family.

No reaction was available from Ray’s family members at the time of filing this report.
