The chief ministers have been asked to identify the Pakistani nationals living in their respective areas and take steps for deportation by April 27

Bhopal: As many as 228 Pakistani nationals, living in Madhya Pradesh, are expected to leave the country by April 27 as per the Centre’s directive.

According to a senior state government officer here, a total 228 Pakistani nationals have been found to be living in Madhya Pradesh.

Union home minister Amit Shah has asked the chief ministers of the states to ensure deportation of the Pakistani nationals living in their respective areas by the deadline of April 27.

However, the directive will not apply to the long-term visas held by Hindu Pakistani nationals.

The chief ministers have been asked to identify the Pakistani nationals living in their respective areas and take steps for deportation by April 27.

The directive by the Centre comes in the wake of a terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22 in which 28 people were killed.

The Chhattisgarh government has also started identifying the Pakistani nationals living in the state and making efforts for their deportation before the April 27 deadline, official sources said.
