2 Rajya Sabha Members From MP Lose Assembly polls In Kerala, TN, Union Minister George Kurien’s Term In Upper House Expires In June
The term of Kurien in the Rajya Sabha is going to expire on June 19 this year and he has to seek renomination to the Upper House if he is retained in the Union ministry after current tenure in RS ends.

Bhopal: Two Rajya Sabha members from Madhya Pradesh have lost Assembly polls in their respective constituencies in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
Results of Assembly polls in five states, West Bengal, Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry, were declared on Monday.
While Union minority welfare minister George Kurien lost the polls from the Assembly constituency of Kanjirapally in Kerala, Union minister of state for information and broadcasting L Murugan lost the elections from the Assembly constituency of Abinashi (SC) in Tamil Nadu.
The term of Kurien in the Rajya Sabha is going to expire on June 19 this year and he has to seek renomination to the Upper House if he is retained in the Union ministry after current tenure in RS ends.
Two other Rajya Sabha members from Madhya Pradesh, Digvijay Singh (Congress) and Sumer Solanki (BJP) are also going to complete their current tenure in the RS on June 19.
Mr. Singh has however already announced that he would not seek renomination to the Upper House.
Mr. Murugan’s current term in the RS will end on April two, 2030.
