Visakhapatnam: Unidentified persons murdered a 65-year-old woman near a hillock at Chalavanipeta in Vizianagaram district and decamped with her gold ornaments. The deceased was identified as M, Rajamma, a native of Kondaguddi village.
The police said that Rajamma along with her cattle herd went to the hillock on Friday to graze cattle and did not return home even after sunset. Suspecting something went wrong, Rajamma’s family went out to search and found her in a pool of blood with multiple stab marks on her body in the forest area.
The family members claimed that a gold chain, ear studs, and a nose pin that she wore were missing. Based on the complaint from the victim’s family, the Pusapatirega police registered a case and are investigating.
The police suspect that someone who knows the daily chores of the woman might have been involved in the crime.
