India, UAE extend bridges of cooperation in various sectors

- n the meeting between Swaraj and Al Nahyan, the two leaders discussed the challenge posed by the ISIS, which has under its control vast swathes in Iraq and Syria, and emphasised on the need to work closely to defeat terrorism.
- External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj called on Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and briefed him about the terror attack on the Pathankot airbase, official sources said.
- India and UAE have committed to raise their bilateral trade by 60 percent in the next five years. Bilateral trade amounted to 59 billion dollars in 2014-15, making UAE the third largest trading partner of India.
- Both leaders later shook hands and exchanged pleasantries. They also waved hands at media persons present at the venue. It is the Crown Prince's first state visit to India.
- It was for the second time that the Prime Minister set aside the protocol. He had earlier last month received US President Barak Obama during the latter's visit to India.
