Naidu, Pawan Kalyan meet Governor to stake claim to form govt. in AP

Vijayawada: The NDA allies led by TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan and others met the Governor A Abdul Nazeer at Raj Bhavan in Vijayawada on Tuesday afternoon to stake claim to form the government.

Earlier, Naidu was unanimously declared as Chief Ministerial candidate during a crucial meeting convened with the NDA alliances – BJP and Jana Sena in Vijayawada on Tuesday.

Pawan Kalyan proposed the name of Naidu to declare him as the Chief Ministerial candidate and supported by the BJP MLAs. A resolution was also passed declaring Naidu as the Leader of the House in Andhra Pradesh Assembly.

Naidu will take oath at the swearing-in ceremony to be conducted on Wednesday near Gannavaram. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Ministers of other States and other prominent leaders would attend the ceremony. The administration is making elaborate security arrangements for the smooth conduct of the ceremony and security has been enhanced at Gannavaram and its surroundings.
